Reservations

Catalog the things your club books — lodging, meals, boats, courts, meeting rooms — then members and stewards hold dates through Book or Grid.

Catalog Setup

Where: Reservations → Catalog Setup — needs resources.catalog.manage, or Admin

Work kind → resource → schedules / policy → prices.

Kinds

A kind is a category of bookable thing. Every organization is seeded with platform Meals (Fixed Slot, locked) and Lodging (Interval by default) — rename them if you like; they cannot be deleted (deactivate to hide from Book).

Quantity	Pool of identical units (room pools, carts)

On each kind set Sort Order, Active, and On Day Sheet (include on Reports → Day Sheet; leave off for pricing-only items like service fees).

Schedules, policy, pricing

Schedules — weekly windows, seasons, blackouts; mark a default
Policy — lead time, duration limits, cancel-before (who may book is governed by role permissions, not a per-policy minimum role)
Pricing — default and optional per membership type rates (Flat, Per Hour, Per Night, Per Slot), guest / child brackets, optional effective date ranges

Resources

Under each kind, create resources with capacity (required for Quantity pools), Active, On Day Sheet, On Week Sheet, and availability (inherit kind schedule or override). Optional resource-level price overrides when one instance differs from the kind default.

Under Meals, create Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner style resources — those drive Reports → Meal Planning. Under Lodging, either one Interval resource per room, or switch Lodging to Quantity with a capacity pool.

Booking paths

Ordinary members book for their household. Anyone with Create Reservations For Members reservations.create.for-member can search Book for Member on the Who step for phone/text bookings. Guest holds need reservations.create.guest. Staff membership types are not offered as book-for subjects — staff book for club members.

When prices are configured, confirmed holds land on the member’s open tab (draft estimate). See Billing.

Cancel and reprice

Members with cancel-own permission can cancel their own holds within policy
Officers with reservations.cancel.any can cancel more broadly
reservations.reprice allows repricing holds when catalog prices change

Deactivate kinds or resources that should not accept new bookings; delete only when nothing references them.
